'shocked'. 'astonished' would be my second choice.

'surprised' would be okay, but not really negative. 'astonished' is pretty much the same thing. 'amazed' usually has a positive connotation. but, if we use 'shocked':
"louis was shocked to find out she betrayed him after all of those years! "

in this day and age you will most likely hear your peers tell you that your television shows can be bad for you. we want to listen to them because in ways it can effect our academics.
one fact we can all admit to, is staying up late when the tv is on. when wanting to succeed academically, you will want a full night of rest. tvs can be holding back on our sleep schedule and draining us of energy.
another way it can affect adolescents academics is exactly what type of show they are watching. if it is a show containing violence, they child may likely show some signs of bad behavior. its not all the time it happens but you know, most kids get what they say from the tv now.
